What can you say about this house? Isn't it stylish? It is nice to live in a home that is unique in style. The style is not the only issue in this house, also the efficiency of its parts. The roof itself is made of high efficient solar panels that provide electricity that can continuously operate up to one week without a hint of sunlight at all. For the plat lovers, it has a tank that can store for over 10cubic meters of rain water. That’s not all; the zeroHouse also processes its own waste products. All organic waste is processed in a digester unit and converts the waste into clean, dry compost. You’ll really love this house for it is completely automatic. The house is monitored and regulated by a “house brain” that can be controlled through any computer or laptop. Isn’t that amazing?

A breath taking house that offers flexible living spaces, with the main living spaces floating over the water, that’s the Orchid House. I’m amazed how the house was designed and incorporated with its surrounding. The house blends with its landscape and environment taking its inspiration from the Bee orchid that is found on the site. The organic form is created from laminated veneer lumbar (LVL) ribs and clad with timber shingles (tiles). The camouflage pattern is burnt in to the timber.

The house is part of the Lower Mill Estate in the Cotsworlds Gloucestershire. It is a privately owned, former gravel quarry of 222 hectares with seven lakes and three rivers. The development will include a spa, village hall, library and shops. The aim is to create a balance between nature conservation and built environment.

The Orchid House is designed by well-known architect, Sarah Featherstone. She is also the director of Featherstone Associates.

Moss House is a private house designed by Japanese Architect "Nendo / Oki Sato". This project involved renovating an old wooden house on the Shibuya River in Tokyo's Ebisu neighbourhood into a live-work space.


The hallway became a study, and the small Japanese-style room a studio.



"Veins of moss pattern the riverbank outside the windows, so we used similar veins of dry moss on the interior walls to subtly connect existing spaces with newly-renovated ones, and the house's interior environment to its exterior one. Most wallpaper imitates nature through a two-dimensional representation of it, and cladding the walls entirely in moss would simply have been too much. We wanted something in-between, so we applied the moss in a pattern that looked like wallpaper, creating an ambiguous texture that's neither artificial nor natural."


The same pattern appears on the cable outlet, and on the doorframes and door handles of the office, further synthesizing the moss pattern with the space.

I was browsing flickr when I saw this colorful house (if it is a house). It looks nice and inviting. I searched information about this one and found out that an artist named James Rizzi was the one behind all this creation. I bet he really has a good and creative imagination. This structure can be seen at Braunschweig, Germany.

The conception for facade and rooms, developed by James Rizzi in cooperation with PROJECTTEAM, are a novum in building-technic and used materials, too: it is projected to create large parts of the facade as a silkscreened membrane of glass, that really illuminates the >Happy RIZZI House<. The architects refer as well to the tradition of joyful and bright colors of Pop-Art as to the architectonic visions of the luminous crystal of the Twenties.

This beach house, by Andrade Morettin, has a roof measuring six metres high, with a surface of 18x8 metres and was built using a prefabricated timber structure with galvanized steel joints. This summer house began with the idea of a big shelter, a “shell”, under which they could locate the programme and protect from the intense sun and frequent rains, without blocking the permanent natural cross ventilation.

The architectural design of this beach house really impressed me. It is generously open to the scenery. You will see everything out there...so relaxing...so refreshing. You can enjoy the views even indoors. Below are some shots of the RR Beach House taken by Nelson Kon.
